Top 10 things to do while Glamping

Top 10 things to do while Glamping

Roast some marshmallows

Enjoy a fire pit and sit by the fire listening to the river. This is hard to beat.  If you have never seen the stars in the high country you are missing out. On clear nights the milky way is very visible.  Fire pits and wood can be hired on arrival.

Visit a winery

Porepunkah Bridge Holiday Park has 2 wineries 2 kms away from our park. The views are spectacular at both Feathertop and Ringer Reef and the local wine is pretty special too! Gapstead Winery is a little further up the road but well worth a visit.

Give Kayaking a try

Kayaks and guided tours can be hired through us at the office. There is nothing better than floating down the ovens river or experiencing the rapids with an experienced guide. A popular route is from Bright to Porepunkah, just 2 mins from our park. Another great place to kayak is Lake Catani at Mt Buffalo and Lake Buffalo.

Go for a Bushwalk

Why not take off for a few hours and get amongst nature.  Mt Buffalo is 15 mins from our park, and it offers so much in the way of waterfalls, walking/running  tracks, and views that will blow you away…well hopefully not, but you know what I mean. Be sure to take your sneakers as the tracks can be quite rocky….and of course a camera as there will plenty of photo moments.

Go for a Bike Ride

The historic rail trail is at our park entrance and offers a flat sealed track into Bright itself.  Bright is 5 kms from us, and it is worth heading onto Wandiliogong for the extra energetic ones as the scenery is beautiful. Another ride on the rail trail is to Myrtleford,  15 kms from us in which you will pass 2 local wineries along the way.

if mountain bike riding is your thing you are in the right place as we are surrounded by lots of fantastic tracks to explore. Mountain bikes can also be hired from us.

Food and Wine

Porepunkah offers some lovely eateries and is only a short walk from our park. If you are staying long weekends and busy holidays, we suggest booking in advance at the local pub as it books out quickly.

Stroll around the Bright Markets

Bright markets are held on the  3rd Saturday of every month. Bright Markets are the perfect place to pick up that unique piece of Bright and surrounds, a hand crafted or painted gift or to indulge in some delicious fresh local produce.

Take a country drive

Take a drive through Mt Beauty, Yackandandah, Beechworth, Harrietville  just to name a few.  All of the surrounding towns have their own unique thing going on that would make for a great day out.

Have a Swim

Swim in our own Ovens River in our park, or enjoy the many water holes around us.  Please take a dip in the waterfalls on Mt Buffalo. There is nothing quite like it!

Head to the local Cinema

Enjoy a movie at Clue 9 Cinemas in Bright. This is a little licensed cinema showing new movies-perfect for a lazy afternoon.
